ROGER & JANEY DISCUSS ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY ON LOOSE WOMEN

My Mum, Your Dad star Janey Smith and Roger Hawes were invited onto ITV's Loose Women a year after they met on the dating show.

The couple, who celebrated their one year anniversary in May, discussed how their romance has developed since leaving the hit show, which is back for a second series this September.

Revealing it was love at first sight, Roger told the panel, "It didn't show on the show itself but she came in and I obviously liked what I saw straight away. We just hit it off. She just said randomly, 'what am I like?' and I said, 'I know what you're like.' Everyone was looking at us and we were off in our own little world."

Janey also revealed how her parents gave Roger the seal of approval immediately, leaving Roger feeling emotional.

Bravely opening up on how her adoption has impacted her romantic relationships, Janey said, “I know I've pushed people away in the past. There's some traits in me and adopted people that you carry and never address it.

"I felt for the first time in my life, 'Well done Janey, you've just gone and said it on live TV.' You don't even tell people you meet but thank goodness I did.

"People messaged me saying, 'that's exactly how I felt,' and when I said I push people away, something very sweet - my Dad doesn't do reality TV, that's how he is, but he messaged me after watching it and said, 'We love Roger, don't push him away.'"

As the moment they first met on TV was played in the studio, Roger said, "It's lovely to see but I was filling up watching it.”

Janey added, "When you see it, it's like 'oh no, don't set me off.' It was a very emotional time. There was anxiety, it was a big thing. It does take you back. It's an outer body experience really."
